Key facts
What you'll do
- Collaborate with HR business partners and senior management to identify skill deficiencies and prioritize essential learning initiatives that align with organizational goals.
- Develop and curate a variety of educational materials, including eLearning modules, instructor-led sessions, and performance support resources tailored to diverse learning styles.
- Oversee the complete instructional design process, from the initial concept and planning stages through to the final implementation and delivery of training programs.
- Lead and facilitate team off-site meetings, workshops, and leadership training sessions to enhance team dynamics and leadership capabilities.
- Monitor and analyze learning metrics to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve course content and delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all training initiatives are synchronized with software release schedules and organizational changes.
- Provide coaching and support to managers and team leaders in implementing learning strategies that drive performance improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent development to continuously enhance the effectiveness of training programs.
- Foster a culture of feedback and continuous improvement by encouraging participants to share their experiences and insights regarding training sessions.
- Design and implement evaluation frameworks to measure the impact of learning initiatives on employee performance and organizational outcomes.
- Create a repository of learning resources and tools that are easily accessible to employees for ongoing development.
- Engage with external vendors and consultants as needed to supplement internal training capabilities and ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in adult education, instructional design, and the development of blended learning solutions is essential.
- A university degree in Adult Learning, Educational Technologies, Instructional Technology, or a related discipline is required.
- Proven expertise in project management, including risk assessment and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to assess performance challenges, identify underlying issues, and recommend suitable training interventions.
- Demonstrated experience in creating multi-channel learning solutions that are grounded in adult learning principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) or Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) are advantageous.
- Membership in professional organizations like the Learning Guild or similar associations is a plus.
- Advanced skills in visual design to enhance the aesthetic quality of training materials and presentations.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in instructional design methodologies and frameworks.
- Experience with multi-channel content development, including eLearning, virtual training, simulations, video production, and job aids.
- Strong project planning skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively.

- This position is hybrid, requiring candidates to reside within a reasonable commuting distance to the Mississauga office.
- Regular participation in in-office events and meetings is expected.
