About the role
This position involves guiding clients in building and implementing secure and compliant data environments using Microsoft technologies. You will be instrumental in translating complex regulatory needs into practical technical solutions. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and client-facing advisory skills.

What you'll do
- Lead client engagements focused on Microsoft security, data governance, and compliance solutions.
- Design and deploy strategies for data protection and regulatory adherence within Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Advise clients on the secure integration of Microsoft Copilot, addressing data risks and governance.
- Architect and implement solutions using Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Map compliance requirements, such as ISO frameworks and government regulations, to technical controls.
- Conduct data discovery and classification initiatives.
- Support pre-sales activities, including solution definition and effort estimation.
- Develop technical documentation and client training materials.
- Act as a subject matter expert for security and compliance within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Microsoft cloud security and compliance consulting.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance features, including Purview, DLP, Records Management, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Solid understanding of data security principles like DLP, data classification, labeling, and insider risk management.
- Experience advising on Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness, including data exposure, permissions, and governance.
- Knowledge of identity and access management concepts, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, and Identity Governance.
- Ability to translate compliance mandates into technical implementations.
- Strong consulting abilities, including client communication, requirements gathering, and solution design.
- Experience creating technical documentation and reusable frameworks.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell.
- A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting State and Local Government or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with data lifecycle management, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
- Experience with enterprise applications and identity integrations.
- Strong technical writing and analytical capabilities.

Practical notes
- Salary range: $120,000 - $210,000, dependent on experience, clearance, and other factors.
- US Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain government clearance (may involve a 10-year background investigation).
