About the role

Planet Technologies is seeking a Cloud Managed Services Consultant to support public sector projects. You will act as a technical advisor and partner to clients, managing their cloud environments while building long-term professional relationships.

What you'll do

• Analyze client business needs and translate them into architectural designs.
• Build, configure, and maintain AWS tenant environments.
• Plan and execute end-to-end workload implementations.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide subject matter expertise to troubleshoot AWS and Linux issues.
• Optimize cloud resource performance and costs.
• Stay current on Azure technologies to support client setups and exploration.
• Serve as an internal escalation point for specific technical domains.

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required for federal agency clearance, which may include a 10-year background investigation.
• Professional experience with AWS architecture and engineering.
• Deep technical knowledge of Linux operating systems, including administration, patching, and application management.
• Proficiency with core cloud platforms including compute, storage, networking, identity management, and security.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder management and documentation.
• Ability to quickly learn new technical areas to meet client requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure Government environments.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization.
• Background in cloud governance.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise, Ubuntu, and GNOME.
• Relevant technical certifications for Linux, AWS, or Azure.

Practical notes
