About the role
The Product Manager will oversee the strategic management and expansion of our industrial eyewear and protective product lines. This position entails guiding the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to market launch, while utilizing market research, customer insights, and competitive analysis to inform product strategies and business decisions. Collaboration with various teams is essential to foster innovation, enhance product offerings, and achieve profitable growth in alignment with the company's goals.

What you'll do
- Develop product strategies by identifying market opportunities and creating strategic plans for assigned categories, integrating customer feedback and industry trends to enhance profitability.
- Spearhead new product development initiatives, working with suppliers and engineering teams to transform market needs into innovative and manufacturable eyewear and PPE solutions.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle, ensuring timely execution of development, sourcing, and launch activities.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to formulate go-to-market strategies, promotional efforts, and product messaging.
- Work with global sourcing teams and suppliers to maintain product quality, cost efficiency, and timely availability; manage plans for excess and obsolete inventory.
- Coordinate with testing agencies to ensure compliance with industry standards (such as ANSI Z87.1) and address customer complaints and quality concerns.
- Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and market trends to inform forecasting and strategic decision-making.
- Act as a product champion, aligning teams in Sales, Engineering, Production, and Operations around common product goals.
- Engage with customers and the market by collaborating with Marketing and Sales on Voice of Customer research, attending industry trade shows, and supporting field sales efforts to gather feedback and promote product adoption.
- Travel up to 25% within North America for field sales support, distributor meetings, and industry events, with occasional international travel to suppliers and sourcing partners as needed.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in business, Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in Product Management, ideally within an industrial, safety, or PPE-focused environment.
- Knowledge of industrial eyewear standards (such as ANSI Z87.1) or similar PPE compliance regulations is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to apply financial principles and understand market dynamics to enhance product profitability and growth in an industrial context.
- A collaborative approach with a history of successful partnerships across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to deliver effective solutions.
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at various levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with PLM or ERP systems (like SAP) is a plus.
- Ability to multitask, work autonomously, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
