About the role

The Ad Server team is seeking a technical leader to guide the development of the tvScientific ad server stack and manage the transition toward ad server independence. This role involves setting architectural direction for core components and coordinating multidisciplinary subteams to ensure the success of our programmatic advertising infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Define and execute architectural strategies for the ad server tech stack and its integration interfaces.
• Manage the ad server independence roadmap, including resource planning and component ownership.
• Oversee subteams focused on bidder infrastructure, index building, and VAST serving.
• Serve as the technical lead for bidder integration projects with Pinterest, coordinating milestones and delivery.
• Identify opportunities to integrate shared components and infrastructure between tvScientific and Pinterest.
• Scale the engineering organization while supporting the growth of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 9+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in the ad industry and 3+ years specifically in programmatic ad tech.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering management.
• Proven track record of designing scalable, observable, and resilient production systems.
• Experience building and maintaining high-volume, data-intensive services.
• Proficiency working with machine learning in low-latency environments.
• Strong data literacy for informing technical and strategic decisions.
• Ability to use AI tools to improve workflow efficiency and output quality.
• Experience verifying AI-assisted work through testing, data validation, and peer review.
• High standards for data integrity and personal accountability for final deliverables.
