About the role
Perplexity is looking for an engineer to join the Acceleration team. This role focuses on improving how the company operates and delivers products, using AI tools to enhance team efficiency and user experience. You will help integrate advanced AI capabilities across all company functions, from engineering to business operations.

What you'll do
- Find and implement the best ways to use advanced AI to speed up Perplexity's development.
- Understand the specific needs of technical and business teams to help them use AI effectively.
- Make sure our code, systems, and information are easily understood by AI.
- Optimize the balance between product quality and development speed using AI tools.
- Stay updated on new AI tools and models, applying them to your own work and inspiring others.
- Guide the company in making confident decisions about new technologies.
- Collaborate with leadership and recruiting to foster an AI-focused culture.
Requirements
- 5 to 15+ years of industry experience, with a focus on infrastructure, platform engineering, or developer acceleration in complex technical environments.
- Regular use of AI models and tools, with a good understanding of their limitations.
- Skilled in Python, with a willingness to learn Rust, TypeScript, Go, and other languages.
- Strong understanding of the work across various technical teams, and an interest in business and operations.
- Familiarity with common technology stacks used by AI product and research companies.
- A strong drive to make software and processes clearer and more reliable.
- Experience managing the balance between immediate delivery and long-term capacity building.
