About the role

Perplexity is hiring an AI Strategist to lead the adoption of our agentic platform within the legal sector. You will bridge the gap between complex legal workflows and our technical infrastructure, working directly with law firms and corporate legal departments to deploy automated solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead discovery sessions with legal teams to identify high-impact automation opportunities.
• Design, scope, and oversee the deployment of custom agents and workflows.
• Create and present technical demonstrations tailored to specific legal tasks like contract review, discovery, and research.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from initial engagement and pilot design to final contract closure.
• Translate real-world legal requirements into product feedback and roadmap priorities.
• Develop repeatable playbooks and documentation for legal-specific AI deployments.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience practicing law or working in legal operations/innovation.
• Minimum 5 years of total professional experience combining legal practice with technical sales, solutions architecture, or AI product strategy.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer relationships with partners and general counsel.
• Proficiency in translating ambiguous business problems into structured technical deployment plans.
• Strong understanding of legal workflows including due diligence, drafting, and regulatory monitoring.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• JD degree and active bar admission.
• Direct experience building with LLM APIs, agentic systems, or MCP.
• Familiarity with legal tech tools such as Relativity, iManage, NetDocuments, Ironclad, Westlaw, or LexisNexis.
• Experience navigating security reviews and outside-counsel guidelines in regulated environments.
• Prior experience in an early-stage startup or founder role.
• Existing professional network within AmLaw 100 firms or Fortune 500 legal departments.
