Perk is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a team focused on building an intelligent platform for travel and expense management. This role involves full ownership of features, from understanding customer needs to deployment and impact measurement. You will contribute to a global platform, emphasizing autonomy and pragmatic problem-solving.

What you'll do

• Translate business objectives into technical roadmaps and mitigate project risks through prototyping.
• Design scalable and maintainable systems and data models, considering performance and fault isolation.
• Define and uphold engineering standards, including CI/CD, testing, and coding practices.
• Establish frontend architectural patterns, covering state management, performance, and comprehensive testing.
• Engineer sophisticated backend solutions, including API versioning, caching, and data migrations.
• Lead observability and Site Reliability Engineering practices, defining SLOs and managing incident responses.
• Oversee operational security, including secrets management and dependency risk, for production environments.
• Mentor less experienced engineers, lead design reviews, and influence product direction with technical insights.
• Coordinate deliverables across multiple teams and align stakeholders to resolve technical blockers.
• Shape the overall product vision and contribute to quarterly goals and long-term strategy.
• Architect major platform changes, creating design documents and maintaining technical quality.
• Drive alignment across the organization, communicating complex ideas and coordinating cross-squad initiatives.
• Support team growth through mentorship, feedback, and modeling strong engineering practices.

Requirements

• Experience translating complex business goals into technical roadmaps.
• Proven ability to architect scalable, evolvable systems and data models.
• Expertise in defining and upholding engineering excellence, including CI/CD and testing strategies.
• Experience establishing frontend architecture patterns.
• Background in engineering sophisticated backend solutions.
• Leadership in observability and SRE practices.
• Oversight of operational security, including secrets hygiene and dependency risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence product roadmaps.
• Experience coordinating multi-team deliverables and aligning stakeholders.
• Strong interest in modern AI-augmented workflows, including agentic workflows and AI-powered code reviews.
• Ability to commute to the Barcelona office three days a week.
