Staff Product Designer

About the role

Pendo is seeking a Staff Product Designer to shape the future of our multi-app platform by leading high-impact design initiatives. You will work directly with product and engineering leadership to transform complex enterprise challenges into intuitive user experiences while integrating AI-driven workflows into your daily process.

What you'll do

• Lead design strategy across multiple product areas, managing projects from initial problem definition to final delivery.
• Build interactive prototypes using code-adjacent tools to validate concepts with users before engineering begins.
• Incorporate AI tools like Cursor and Claude into your design process to accelerate problem framing, interface exploration, and prototyping.
• Evolve the Pendo design system by creating reusable components and patterns that maintain high standards of craft.
• Influence product and engineering roadmaps by providing data-backed design rationale to executive stakeholders.
• Mentor other designers by sharing documented prompts, workflows, and design patterns to improve team output.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of product design experience within enterprise B2B SaaS environments.
• A portfolio demonstrating measurable business results, high-level visual craft, and the ability to simplify complex systems.
• Demonstrated ability to prototype using code or technical tools such as Cursor, v0, or Replit.
• Active, daily use of AI tools for design, research, and prototyping.
• Proven track record of influencing cross-functional partners upstream to shape product requirements.
• Strong written communication skills to articulate design decisions and rationale clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience designing interfaces where AI or ML output is a primary feature.
• Expertise in data visualization, including interaction design and storytelling for high-density datasets.
• Experience contributing to design culture through mentorship or the development of critique frameworks.
• Prior familiarity with the Pendo platform or the product analytics and digital adoption software category.
