Sr. IT Engineer

About the role

The Business Systems team at Pendo manages the global infrastructure, automation, and support systems that keep our operations running. We are looking for a senior engineer to own our IT strategy, drive automation, and improve our internal systems as we scale. This position requires a proactive builder who can manage technical projects independently while supporting our daily operational needs.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Administer Okta, including SSO, SCIM provisioning, and lifecycle management.
• Develop automations using Workato, n8n, Okta Workflows, and APIs to remove manual tasks.
• Manage and optimize our SaaS portfolio, including Google Workspace, Atlassian, Slack, LastPass, and Zoom.
• Provide end-user support, resolve helpdesk tickets, and maintain A/V equipment for meetings.
• Oversee device provisioning and deprovisioning for our primarily Mac-based fleet.
• Identify and execute infrastructure improvements to increase system security and reliability.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders through documentation and updates.

Requirements

• 3+ years of IT engineering experience within a technology or SaaS company.
• Proven expertise in Okta administration and lifecycle management.
• Proficiency with iPaaS tools like Workato or n8n to build automated workflows.
• Experience integrating SaaS tools via APIs.
• Strong background in enterprise macOS support, with some Windows experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversight.
• Daily, active use of AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to improve workflow efficiency.
• Strong written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with endpoint management tools like JumpCloud or Iru.
• Knowledge of security protocols including MFA, SSO enforcement, and least privilege access.
• Previous experience transitioning from a helpdesk role into an engineering or automation-focused position.
