GTM AI Engineer

About the role

The Applied AI team at Pendo integrates artificial intelligence into our internal infrastructure to optimize performance across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Engineering. You will manage the full lifecycle of AI solutions, ensuring they provide measurable value and efficiency for our internal business teams.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage AI projects from initial problem identification and prompt design through to production deployment and performance monitoring.
• Build and maintain workflow automations, including Slackbots, to streamline GTM operations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate AI use cases, manage expectations, and ensure high adoption rates.
• Treat prompt management as production-grade code to ensure outputs are reliable and auditable.
• Partner with Data Platform and Systems teams to identify tooling gaps and provide requirements for infrastructure improvements.
• Document and share effective AI workflow patterns to help scale knowledge across the organization.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, or applied AI with a history of shipping production systems.
• Practical experience developing LLM-based applications, including prompt engineering and iterative validation.
• Strong technical judgment to determine when AI is the appropriate solution and the ability to challenge requests when it is not.
• Ability to engage directly with non-technical stakeholders to define requirements and drive project success.
• Self-directed builder mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within existing platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with GTM systems, specifically Salesforce.
• Background in creating Slackbots or other integrated GTM automation tools.
• Experience maintaining shared prompt libraries or AI documentation.
• Ability to quantify the business impact of AI initiatives in terms of revenue or efficiency.
• Experience working in small, high-ownership teams.
