Sr. User Researcher

About the role

Peloton is hiring a Senior User Researcher to lead hardware-focused studies that improve our Bike, Tread, and Row products. You will bridge the gap between physical hardware and digital software to refine the complete member experience. This role reports to the Director, User Research and involves close partnership with engineering, design, and product teams.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage research roadmaps and prioritize testing projects across multiple product teams.
• Translate ambiguous problem statements into actionable research plans for hardware and software.
• Coordinate with research operations to manage participant sourcing and testing logistics for remote and in-person sessions.
• Evaluate design mockups, prototypes, beta versions, and final products.
• Present clear, data-backed insights to stakeholders to guide product strategy and design.
• Improve internal research infrastructure to streamline in-office, virtual, and field testing.
• Document user behaviors and findings to build a searchable knowledge base for future development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in user research and testing.
• Proven background in physical product development, hardware, or human factors.
• Experience working across both hardware and software product teams.
• Ability to manage and organize workflows across multiple teams.
• Proficiency in both remote and in-person research methodologies.
• Experience using AI tools to increase research efficiency.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling skills.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Must provide work samples focused on user research and testing.

Nice to have

• Degree or equivalent experience in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Anthropometry, or related physical disciplines.
• Experience researching digital interfaces, software, or content experiences.
• Experience writing and analyzing quantitative surveys.

Skills & tools

• Qualitative and quantitative research methods (interviews, ethnography, surveys).
• AI research productivity tools.
• Hardware and software usability testing.
