About the role

This position involves joining an agile team focused on designing and building microservices for Peloton hardware and digital platforms. You will develop and monitor AI-driven features like voice interaction, search, and subtitles to support global expansion.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and low-latency APIs and services.
• Participate in sprint planning and provide regular progress updates to engineering leads and TPMs.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code while creating reusable libraries for broader use.
• Optimize service performance using profiling, load testing, caching, and query tuning.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, feature toggles, and automated testing to ensure release reliability.
• Manage system health through on-call rotations and incident response.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in backend cloud development.
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, or similar languages.
• Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot or Bottle/Gunicorn.
• Working knowledge of relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB.
• Experience with Elastic Search and caching technologies such as Redis or Memcache.
• Familiarity with communication protocols including gRPC, REST, and GraphQL.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS infrastructure (Lambda, SQS, S3, ECR, IAM, DynamoDB).
• Experience with deployment and observability tools like Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Datadog.

Nice to have

• Experience developing chatbots or voice-based digital assistants.
• Background in building personalized search and discovery platforms.
• Prior work with automatic speech recognition systems.
