Sr. Manager, Mechanical Engineering

About the role

You will oversee the mechanical engineering team responsible for developing connected fitness hardware and maintaining current product lines. Reporting to the Director of Mechanical Engineering, you will lead a group of engineers through the full product lifecycle while coordinating with cross-functional departments to meet technical and business goals.

What you'll do

• Manage, mentor, and hire mechanical engineering staff through regular check-ins and professional development planning.
• Define and implement engineering standards, design workflows, and best practices for failure analysis and design for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design, Firmware, Electrical, Quality, and Program Management teams to execute product roadmaps.
• Coordinate with global contract manufacturers and suppliers to manage production phases and resolve operational issues.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, including 4+ years in a leadership role.
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree.
• Expertise in manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, welding, sheet metal stamping, and injection molding.
• Experience managing product development from initial concept through to mass production.
• Proficiency in test and measurement fixturing.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Background in power transmission systems, including bearings, pulleys, and drive belts.
• Experience with Process Engineering or Quality Management Systems.
