About the role
You will serve as the primary authority for global measurement standards and lead our metrology laboratory operations. This role focuses on bridging the gap between hardware design and manufacturing by overseeing technical quality protocols and GD&T implementation.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Direct the roadmap for the metrology lab, including infrastructure management and capital expenditure planning.
- Establish corporate GD&T standards and lead cross-functional teams through tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Manage measurement correlation and technical audits with overseas manufacturing partners to ensure data alignment.
- Oversee high-precision inspections and lead root-cause investigations for prototypes and field failures.
- Integrate Design for Inspection principles into hardware development and validate functional gauges.
- Develop and deliver training programs to improve metrology literacy across the company.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in dimensional engineering or metrology.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in PolyWorks, Zeiss Calypso, or PC-DMIS.
- Experience with SolidWorks and PTC Windchill.
- Demonstrated success in managing Design for Excellence and working with high-volume manufacturing partners in Asia.
- Strong understanding of Measurement Systems Analysis and Gauge R&R studies.
Nice to have
- Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- GD&T certification (ISO1101 or ASME Y14.5).
- Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Professional proficiency in Mandarin.
