About the role
Paytm is seeking a Deputy General Manager to lead, develop, and expand a business category within our financial services ecosystem. This position requires an entrepreneurial leader to manage strategy, product development, and operational execution for a high-growth venture.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the complete strategy, growth trajectory, and profit and loss responsibilities for your assigned category.
- Create financing workflows that allow users to pay interest strictly on the capital they use.
- Find and capture expansion opportunities involving D2C brands, SMEs, digital businesses, and merchants.
- Use data analysis and iterative testing to improve category performance and business metrics.
- Oversee the health of the portfolio, including profitability and user adoption rates.
- Partner with senior management to introduce and grow new initiatives within the company.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of professional experience in general management, product ownership, or category management.
- Proven track record of scaling a business unit or product line with clear, measurable results.
- Deep knowledge of financial products, merchant platforms, logistics, supply chains, or marketplace ecosystems.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale business portfolios.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and experience managing stakeholders.
- An entrepreneurial approach to work in a high-speed, early-stage environment.
