Senior Engineer, EMS & AI Automation

About the role

Parallelwireless is seeking a developer to build and maintain automation systems for Open RAN networks. You will focus on creating microservices that manage network configuration and fault monitoring while integrating AI tools to improve development workflows.

What you'll do

• Build and support Go microservices responsible for optimizing network performance and managing device configurations.
• Create protocol adapters to bridge internal data models with external device communication standards.
• Manage MongoDB database architecture, including schema creation, indexing, and aggregation for sharded clusters.
• Implement event-driven data flows using Kafka to handle cell-state updates and configuration changes.
• Ensure high availability by designing stateless services with proper concurrency management and graceful shutdown procedures.
• Perform code reviews, write unit tests, and troubleshoot production issues using distributed tracing and logs.
• Apply AI-assisted tools across the development lifecycle to speed up coding, testing, and debugging while maintaining strict quality control.

Requirements

• 8+ years of total software development experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience working with Go (Golang) in production environments.
• Proficiency in Go idioms including goroutines, channels, interfaces, and error handling.
• Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, specifically regarding schema design and replica sets.
• Experience building RESTful APIs within distributed microservice architectures.
• Practical knowledge of Kafka or similar messaging systems for event-driven design.
• Understanding of concurrency, shared state, locking mechanisms, and idempotency in high-availability systems.
• Experience using AI coding agents for refactoring, test generation, and debugging, with the ability to validate AI-generated code.

Nice to have

• Background in the telecom sector, specifically with RAN, EMS/NMS, or O-RAN architectures like Near-RT RIC and SMO.
• Familiarity with protocols such as TR-069, NETCONF/YANG, SNMP, or O1.
• Knowledge of 3GPP specifications and OAM/FCAPS concepts.
