About the role
This role defines the technical architecture and writes the core low-latency implementation for Syncro using Rust, owned by a single senior engineer. The work targets validator submission paths, network routing, and node placement to serve institutional clients in decentralized finance.
Software engineers turn product ideas into working code. Engineers work in small teams, review each other's work, and ship in small batches. Most teams follow agile practices such as sprints and daily standups. Engineers also write tests, fix bugs, and improve performance. The field values clear communication as much as technical skill. What you'll do
Cut latency by design through validator submission paths, network routing and peering, node co-location, and direct QUIC/TPU ingress, serving latency-sensitive trading workflows.
Lead a multi-region rollout on bare-metal and cloud infrastructure, placing capacity near client trading venues to reduce round-trip times for institutional users.
Eliminate single points of failure by designing HA patterns and automatic failover, ensuring continuous availability for restaking and yield aggregation operations.
Automate safe, self-serve releases while owning latency and uptime SLOs, observability, and alerting to keep P2p.Org services reliable for exchanges and custodians.
Set the technical bar through rigorous design and code review, guiding distributed backend engineers who ship infrastructure for Solana, high-throughput chains, and market-data systems.
Requirements
8+ years building distributed backend and infrastructure, with low-latency systems already in production.
Write highly efficient code using algorithms and data structures with optimal time and space complexity, and tune language runtime and OS behavior including memory management, cache use, allocations, syscalls, and concurrency.
Demonstrate deep Solana internals knowledge, especially validator/TPU operation, stake-weighted QoS (SWQoS), QUIC, shreds, and transaction landing, marked as a priority.
Show experience in trading, MEV, or market-data infrastructure, including orderflow handling, searchers, and latency-sensitive processing paths.
Be an expert in a systems language, with production Rust required or C/C++/Go experience while moving to Rust.
Apply networking and latency tuning skills across TCP/QUIC, routing, peering strategies, co-location setups, and kernel/NIC tuning for throughput.
Manage production infrastructure on Linux across bare-metal and cloud (GCP/AWS), using Kubernetes and IaC to provision decentralized staking and yield systems.
Operate PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ/Kafka in high-availability configurations supporting institutional throughput.
Have owned a complex system's architecture from design through implementation and operations.
Use English at C1+ level and work fully remote in an async distributed team based in Europe.
Nice to have
Hands-on Solana validator operations or staking infrastructure experience.
Deep exposure to the MEV ecosystem, including relayers, bundles, and block engines.
Work with SUI, Hyperliquid, or other high-throughput chains.
Build and operate real-time market-data and streaming systems at scale.
Perform low-level profiling and benchmarking using tools such as perf and flamegraphs.
Contribute blockchain open-source projects used by exchanges and custodians.
