Outsiders Fund is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to spearhead the development of AI-driven systems that transform how creative teams manage and update websites. As a key early team member, you will explore the application of large language models (LLMs) to innovate work processes.

What you'll do

• Design and implement systems that translate natural language into intelligent, multi-step workflows utilizing generative AI.
• Develop and scale an LLM agent for real-time inference, dynamic prompting, and orchestration of tools.
• Lead technical direction across the entire stack, focusing on backend systems and front-end user experience with an emphasis on performance and scalability.
• Create systems that evolve over time by integrating customer feedback, usage analytics, and brand preferences.
• Mentor fellow engineers and influence the engineering culture, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to dynamically adjust features and layouts in real-time.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance through rigorous testing, deployment, and observability practices.
• Take ownership of problems and solutions from start to finish without operating in silos.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex systems in fast-paced or uncertain environments.
• Extensive knowledge in algorithms, distributed systems, and software architecture.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across various functions.
• Experience in addressing high-variance or unstructured challenges with innovative, product-focused solutions.
• Educational background in math, physics, systems engineering, or related technical fields.
• Strong sense of ownership and a proven ability to take projects from inception to completion.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-growth or early-stage startup environments.
• Familiarity with AI/ML tools and large language models.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or similar programming languages.

Compensation

The salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $220,000 annually. The final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This role may also include performance-based bonuses and equity options.
