Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

This position involves maintaining cloud operations for Oracle National Security Realms. You will join a global team focused on the availability, scalability, and performance of large-scale distributed systems.

What you'll do

• Act as an escalation point for junior engineers during high-impact incidents.
• Manage complex change management tickets while ensuring service safety.
• Onboard new services and tools to ensure operational readiness.
• Provide mentorship and training to improve team capabilities.
• Produce and maintain documentation for operational processes.
• Identify manual tasks and develop automation to minimize toil.
• Troubleshoot large, interconnected systems using a methodical approach.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams on production architecture and system design.
• Support the deployment and maintenance of AI infrastructure, including clustered GPUs and LLM integration.

Requirements

• US Citizenship.
• Possession of an active TS/SCI w/Poly security clearance.
• Bachelor degree in a technology field or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in mission-critical environments such as NOC or technical support.
• Proficiency in Linux or Unix OS internals and host-based networking.
• Ability to write automation scripts in languages like Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, JavaScript, or Java.
• Familiarity with OSI model and core protocols like DNS, DHCP, HTTP, and TCP/IP.
• Experience with change management procedures and resolving alarms via runbooks.

Nice to have

• Experience with configuration management tools like Chef or Puppet.
• Knowledge of monitoring solutions for large-scale environments.
