About the role
This position serves as the primary technical authority for Epic infrastructure, focusing on deployment strategy, interoperability, and API management. You will maintain high availability for critical medical records systems while leading technical architecture governance and complex troubleshooting efforts.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the deployment and configuration of Epic Hyperspace, Hyperdrive, Kuiper, and Client Installer environments.
- Oversee Web and Service server administration, including MyChart, Interconnect, Hyperspace Web, and Web BLOB infrastructure.
- Configure interoperability services and APIs, including FHIR, SMART on FHIR, and Care Everywhere.
- Maintain Business Continuity Access workflows to ensure disaster recovery readiness.
- Monitor system capacity and performance using Epic System Pulse and related analytics.
- Administer Citrix NetScaler environments, load balancing, and enterprise print/fax services.
- Manage security compliance, including OAuth/SAML token management and SSL/TLS certificate installation.
- Utilize automation and AI tools to streamline configuration and resolve infrastructure challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Active Epic certification in Hyperspace Deployment Administration.
- Active Epic certification in Web and Service Servers Administration.
- 5+ years of experience in Epic client/server architecture and infrastructure deployment.
- 5+ years of enterprise systems administration experience with Windows Server.
- 3+ years of experience with enterprise authentication protocols, including OAuth, SAML, or OpenID Connect, and SSL/TLS certificate management.
- 3+ years of experience with Citrix NetScaler, load balancers, and network traffic routing.
- 3+ years of experience using monitoring tools like Epic System Pulse for performance troubleshooting.
Nice to have
- Additional Epic certifications in System Pulse, Client Installer Administration, Care Everywhere, or Interconnect API/FHIR.
- 7+ years of enterprise systems administration experience.
- Experience with large-scale, multi-region, or multi-instance Epic implementations.
- Background in leading Epic infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and technical cutovers.
- Experience with hybrid, hosted, or cloud Epic environments.
- Expertise in disaster recovery planning and health information exchange standards.
