About the role
Optomi is hiring a DevOps Engineer to support a major insurance firm by modernizing cloud infrastructure and automating delivery workflows. You will work within a centralized engineering group to replace manual tasks with scalable automation and improve release reliability across the enterprise.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and manage Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for enterprise software.
- Replace manual operational steps with automated, repeatable solutions.
- Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Migrate legacy Classic Azure DevOps pipelines into YAML-based configurations.
- Automate database deployments for SQL Server and Oracle environments using Liquibase.
- Coordinate with software developers to increase deployment frequency and release quality.
- Assist with production releases every two weeks while minimizing manual work.
- Resolve pipeline errors and infrastructure bottlenecks.
- Develop scripts to simplify provisioning and deployment tasks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Automation.
- Proven ability to build and manage Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience transitioning Classic pipelines to YAML.
- Hands-on proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure management.
- Background in automating software releases within large-scale environments.
- Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, server management, and release lifecycles.
- Ability to work independently and drive technical initiatives with little supervision.
Nice to have
- Experience using Liquibase for database deployment automation.
- Familiarity with Helm charts and cloud-native deployment strategies.

Practical notes
