What you'll do

Provide senior technical guidance across various engineering teams and systems.

Lead the design, construction, and deployment of scalable and dependable software solutions.

Spearhead significant technical projects involving multiple departments from conception to completion.

Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Customer Experience teams to align technical efforts with business objectives.

Assess current systems to identify areas for enhancement in reliability, scalability, performance, maintainability, observability, and developer efficiency.

Design and oversee the implementation of backend services, APIs, integrations, platform features, and distributed systems.

Influence the technical direction, roadmap, and priorities for multiple teams.

Champion engineering best practices in architecture, code quality, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, documentation, and operational excellence.

Mentor engineers and technical leads, elevating the standard for design, execution, and accountability.

Guide teams in making informed technical decisions balancing speed, quality, scalability, reliability, security, and long-term upkeep.

Support modernization initiatives, platform enhancements, and integration strategies for both legacy and modern systems.

Utilize AI-powered engineering tools and automation to improve development workflows, operational efficiency, and team effectiveness.

Identify practical applications of AI-assisted tools or automation to enhance customer experience, internal processes, engineering output, or operational results.

Contribute to systems involving customer communications, telephony, contact center operations, servicing platforms, or enterprise integrations.

Participate in production support, incident reviews, root cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvements for critical systems.

Requirements

12 or more years of professional software engineering experience.

Extensive experience in designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems.

Demonstrated capability to provide technical leadership across multiple teams or complex areas.

Deep expertise in backend services, APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and cloud-native architectures.

Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Kotlin.

Nice to have

Experience with customer communication platforms, telephony systems, or contact center technologies.
