What you'll do
- Direct daily operations and team performance, including hiring, training, and development.
- Create and refine strategies for remarketing vehicles and managing vendor relationships.
- Oversee interactions with vendors for assignments, storage, transport, and auctions, addressing any issues.
- Develop solutions to enhance vehicle value and optimize sales processes.
- Ensure the proper management and protection of collateral throughout the process.
- Monitor inventory from auction assignment to sale, assessing performance.
- Coordinate vehicle sales, ensuring timely transport, title processing, and compliance with legal sale dates.
- Manage documentation for all vehicle redemptions.
- Schedule vehicle sales at auctions to meet established timeframes.
- Conduct pre and post-sale audits to verify expenses.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to improve recoveries and efficiency.
- Ensure all actions comply with company policies and legal requirements.
- Lead a team focused on timely vehicle sales at optimal prices, monitoring reports and providing coaching.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
- Proven ability to analyze key performance indicators and set operational goals.
- Skill in identifying and resolving operational challenges.
- Capacity to anticipate and address both immediate and future issues.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a changing environment.
- Ability to positively influence employee engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- In-depth understanding of auto auction operations.
- Familiarity with vehicle repossession and title processing procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft productivity software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Visio.
- Personal attributes: commitment, even temperament, integrity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Negotiation skills to achieve profitable and satisfactory deal outcomes.
- Business acumen, including an understanding of market dynamics and competition.
