About the role
Oportun is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead communications initiatives within our Lending Pillar. You will define product strategy, manage roadmaps, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver financial solutions for our members.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Partner with leadership to establish product strategy and OKRs.
- Lead cross-functional teams including engineers, designers, and ML scientists to achieve business goals.
- Gather user insights through research and feedback to inform product updates.
- Utilize data and analytics to monitor performance and optimize KPIs.
- Scope and launch features designed to improve user financial health.
- Coordinate with risk and compliance departments to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Manage financial models, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Report on product progress to executive leadership and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or higher.
- 12+ years of total professional experience.
- 7-10+ years of product management experience in high-growth environments.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and make data-informed decisions.
- Experience building consensus across diverse teams.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to navigate obstacles in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in the financial services or FinTech industry.
- Background in omni-channel customer communication platforms (SMS, email, voice, push, letter).
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience working with multi-national teams.
- Familiarity with complex legal and regulatory frameworks in finance.
