This role is for a full-time position focused on creating a positive and unique service experience for Oportun members. You will be instrumental in educating individuals and communities about Oportun's accessible financial solutions. Your work will directly contribute to empowering members to build a more secure financial future.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Greet members warmly and provide excellent service.
• Accurately process transactions while adhering to company policies and safeguarding member data.
• Collaborate with team members or work independently to meet daily lending and servicing objectives.
• Spend over 50% of your time engaging in outreach activities to inform potential members about Oportun's services. This includes building relationships with local businesses, conducting community event outreach, and encouraging store visits.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming store environment through light housekeeping duties.
• Utilize a computer for approximately 3-6 hours daily for administrative tasks and member support.
• Assist members while standing, with opportunities to sit during non-member-facing tasks.
• Occasionally unpack and store office or cleaning supplies.
• Travel between designated work locations, including outreach sites, within a reasonable commuting distance is required.
• Embody Oportun's core values in your daily work.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory.
• You should be outgoing, have a sales-oriented mindset, and enjoy interacting with people.
• A genuine desire to assist members, including prospective members through educational outreach, is essential.
• Availability to work weekends and a flexible, rotating schedule based on store needs is required. Schedules are confirmed every two weeks.
• Consistent and dependable attendance is necessary to support store operations.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors year-round for outreach activities to identify new sales opportunities and promote company offerings.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and operation of office equipment like phones, scanners, and iPads.
• Capability to organize and file paper documents.

• Previous experience in customer service, cashiering, sales, or hospitality.

Practical notes

• The base hourly rate for this full-time position is $18.00 - $19.50.
• Compensation also includes sales incentives.
