About the role

Oportun is hiring a full-time representative to provide financial services and support to our members. You will act as a primary point of contact, balancing in-store duties with community outreach to help people access affordable credit.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Provide friendly service and process transactions while maintaining member data security.
• Spend over 50% of your time on outreach efforts, including visiting local businesses, flea markets, and community events to generate leads.
• Assist potential members with applications using iPads and QR codes.
• Manage store appearance through light cleaning tasks like mopping, sweeping, and trash removal.
• Perform administrative work on computers for 3 to 6 hours daily.
• Travel between local work sites and event locations within a standard commuting distance.
• Work independently or with a team to meet daily service and lending targets.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in hospitality, sales, cashiering, or customer service.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes weekends, with shifts set on a bi-weekly basis.
• Capacity to work outdoors year-round for marketing and outreach activities.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Reliable attendance and a commitment to company core values.

Skills & tools

• Basic computer literacy.
• Experience operating office equipment, including scanners, phones, and iPads.
• Proficiency in organizing and filing physical documents.
