About the role

Oportun is looking for individuals with backgrounds in hospitality, sales, cashiering, or customer service to join our team. You will act as a primary point of contact for our members, helping them understand our financial services while working both inside our stores and through community outreach.

What you'll do

• Provide welcoming service to all members who visit the store.
• Manage financial transactions while adhering to security protocols and company procedures.
• Spend over 50% of your time conducting outreach at community events, flea markets, and partner locations to generate leads.
• Engage with local business owners and their staff to promote our services.
• Assist potential members with application processes using iPads and QR codes.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
• Perform administrative tasks on a computer for 3 to 6 hours daily.
• Travel between local work sites and event locations within a standard commuting distance.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in customer service, sales, cashiering, or hospitality.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes weekends, with shifts updated every two weeks.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions for outreach activities.
• Capacity to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience using office equipment like scanners and phones.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Reliable and predictable attendance.
