About the role

Oportun is looking for a full-time representative to support our mission of providing accessible financial services. You will act as a primary point of contact for our members, balancing in-store service duties with proactive community outreach to help people reach their financial goals.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Provide high-quality service and greetings to every member who visits the store.
• Execute financial transactions while adhering to company safety and privacy protocols.
• Meet or exceed daily performance targets for lending and servicing activities.
• Spend over 50% of your time on outreach, including visiting local businesses, attending community events, and working at Lending As A Service (LAAS) partner sites to generate leads.
• Use iPads and QR codes to assist potential members with application starts during community engagement.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and window cleaning.
• Perform administrative computer tasks for 3 to 6 hours daily.
• Travel between local work sites and outreach locations as required.
• Stand while assisting members and lift up to 25 pounds when handling supplies.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Prior experience in hospitality, sales, cashiering, or customer service.
• Availability to work a flexible, rotating schedule that includes weekends.
• Ability to work outdoors throughout the year for outreach initiatives.
• Reliable and consistent attendance.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience using office equipment like scanners and phones.
• Ability to organize and maintain physical files.
