This role focuses on providing high-quality service and community outreach to connect individuals with our financial products. You will act as a primary point of contact, educating the public and assisting members with their financial needs.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Greet members and provide service while maintaining data privacy and following company protocols.
• Manage financial transactions and assist with member accounts.
• Spend over 50% of your time conducting community outreach at local businesses, events, flea markets, and partner locations.
• Educate the community on Oportun services by distributing flyers and generating new application leads.
• Use iPads and QR codes to help potential members begin the application process.
• Perform light maintenance tasks to keep the store clean, including sweeping, mopping, and window cleaning.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet daily service and lending targets.
• Travel between local work sites and event locations within a standard commuting distance.
• Perform administrative tasks on a computer for 3 to 6 hours daily.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in hospitality, sales, cashiering, or customer service.
• Ability to work a flexible, rotating schedule that includes weekends, with shifts set every two weeks.
• Capacity to work outdoors in various conditions to promote services and identify new opportunities.
• Physical ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
• Reliable and predictable attendance.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a sales-oriented mindset.

• Proficiency with computers, scanners, phones, and iPads.
• Ability to organize and maintain paper documentation.
