About the role

Oportun seeks individuals with backgrounds in customer service, sales, hospitality, or cashiering to join our team. You will serve as a primary point of contact for our members, guiding them toward financial services that support their goals.

What you'll do

• Provide high-quality service and warm greetings to all members.
• Manage financial transactions while adhering to company safety and privacy protocols.
• Perform independently or as part of a team to meet daily lending and servicing objectives.
• Spend over 50% of your time conducting community outreach, including visiting local businesses, flea markets, and Lending As A Service partner sites to generate leads.
• Educate the community on our financial products through flyer distribution and direct engagement.
• Assist prospective members with application processes using iPads and QR codes.
• Maintain a clean and presentable retail environment, including light janitorial tasks.
• Use computers for 3 to 6 hours daily for administrative and member-servicing tasks.
• Travel between local work sites and outreach locations as required.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, or cashier roles.
• Ability to work a flexible, rotating schedule that includes weekends.
• Capacity to work outdoors in various conditions for outreach activities.
• Physical ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
• Reliable and consistent attendance.
• Basic computer literacy and proficiency with office equipment like scanners and phones.
