About the role

Oportun provides inclusive financial services to help members reach their goals through affordable credit and savings tools. This role focuses on delivering high-quality service and conducting community outreach to connect potential members with our financial products. You will serve as a primary point of contact, building relationships and educating the public on our mission.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Greet members and provide professional service while processing transactions securely.
• Spend over 50 percent of your time on outreach efforts, including visiting local businesses and attending community events to capture leads.
• Use iPads to assist prospective members with application starts and explain our financial services.
• Maintain the store environment through light cleaning tasks and organization.
• Work independently or with teammates to meet daily lending and service targets.
• Travel between local work sites and event locations within a standard commuting distance.
• Perform administrative computer tasks for 3 to 6 hours daily.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in hospitality, sales, cashiering, or general customer service.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes weekends, with shifts set on a bi-weekly basis.
• Capacity to work outdoors year-round for marketing and outreach activities.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Reliable attendance and a commitment to our core values.

• Basic computer literacy and comfort using office equipment such as scanners, phones, and iPads.
• Proficiency in organizing and filing physical documentation.
