About the role

Oportun is hiring a full-time representative to provide financial service support and lead generation. You will act as a primary point of contact for members, balancing in-store operations with active community outreach to promote affordable credit solutions.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Provide friendly service and process transactions while maintaining member data security.
• Spend over 50 percent of your time conducting outreach at community events, flea markets, and partner locations.
• Build relationships with local business owners to explain Oportun services.
• Use iPads and QR codes to assist potential members with application starts.
• Manage store cleanliness, including mopping, sweeping, and trash collection.
• Perform administrative tasks on a computer for 3 to 6 hours daily.
• Travel between local work sites and outreach locations as required.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet lending and service goals.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in sales, hospitality, cashiering, or customer service.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule including weekends, with shifts set every two weeks.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions for outreach.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Reliable and predictable attendance.

Skills & tools

• Basic computer proficiency.
• Experience with office equipment including scanners, phones, and iPads.
• Ability to organize and maintain paper files.
