About the role

Oportun seeks individuals with backgrounds in hospitality, sales, cashiering, or customer service to join our team in a full-time capacity. You will act as a primary point of contact for our members, guiding them through our financial services while conducting active community outreach to expand our reach.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Provide professional service and warm greetings to all members.
• Execute financial transactions while maintaining data security and following internal protocols.
• Meet or exceed performance targets for lending and service activities, whether working independently or with colleagues.
• Spend over 50% of your time on outreach, including visiting local businesses, attending community events, and working at Lending As A Service partner locations.
• Educate the public on Oportun products using flyers, iPads, and QR codes to initiate applications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including mopping, sweeping, trash removal, and window cleaning.
• Perform administrative duties on a computer for 3 to 6 hours daily.
• Travel between local sites and outreach locations within a standard commuting radius.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, or cashier roles.
• Availability to work a flexible, rotating schedule including weekends, with shifts updated every two weeks.
• Ability to work outdoors throughout the year for promotional and outreach tasks.
• Capacity to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Reliable and consistent attendance.
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort using office equipment like scanners, phones, and tablets.
