About the role

Oportun seeks individuals with backgrounds in hospitality, sales, cashiering, or customer service to join our team. You will serve as a primary contact for our members, helping them access affordable financial services while actively engaging with the community to drive awareness and growth.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Provide welcoming service to all members who visit the store.
• Execute financial transactions while adhering to security protocols and company procedures.
• Manage store operations independently or as part of a team to meet daily lending and service targets.
• Spend over 50% of your time on outreach activities, including visiting local businesses, flea markets, and community events to generate leads and assist with applications.
• Educate potential members on our financial products using iPads and QR codes.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including mopping, sweeping, and trash removal.
• Use computers for administrative tasks and member servicing for approximately 3 to 6 hours daily.
• Travel between local work sites and outreach locations within a standard commuting distance.
• Support company values by acting as a role model for the team.

Requirements

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Outgoing personality with a focus on sales and community engagement.
• Ability to work a rotating, flexible schedule including weekends, with shifts set every two weeks.
• Capacity to work outdoors year-round for outreach and marketing initiatives.
• Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Reliable and predictable attendance.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with office equipment like scanners, phones, and iPads.
• Ability to organize and maintain paper files.
