Join Oportun as a Member Loyalty Representative, where you will provide exceptional service and build lasting relationships with our members. This role focuses on engaging with individuals both inside and outside our store locations to educate them about Oportun's financial services and help them achieve their financial goals. You will be a key part of a team dedicated to making a positive impact in the community.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Greet members warmly and deliver high-quality customer service.
• Accurately process transactions while adhering to company policies and safeguarding member information.
• Work independently or as part of a team, sometimes without direct supervision, to exceed daily lending and servicing targets.
• Spend over 50% of your time on outreach activities at Oportun locations, partner sites, and community events.
• Build connections with local businesses like auto shops, dental clinics, and furniture stores, discussing how Oportun's services can benefit their customers.
• Participate in outreach at flea markets, community gatherings, and Lending As A Service (LAAS) partner locations to raise awareness, generate leads, and help with application initiation.
• Actively engage with people near Oportun retail stores, encouraging visits and assisting with applications.
• Support community outreach and marketing by distributing flyers and informing the local community about Oportun's offerings.
• Use iPads or help potential members scan QR codes during outreach to begin new applications.
• Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and inviting store environment, including daily trash collection, sweeping, mopping, and window cleaning as needed.
• Use a computer for administrative tasks and member servicing for approximately 3-6 hours daily.
• Stand while assisting members and sit during non-member-facing duties.
• Occasionally unpack and store office or cleaning supplies.
• Travel between designated work locations, including outreach sites, within a reasonable commuting distance as part of your regular duties.

Requirements

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Must be outgoing, sales-oriented, and enjoy interacting with people.
• Must be dedicated to helping members and prospective members through outreach and educational activities.
• Must be available to work weekends and have flexibility with a rotating work schedule based on store needs, with schedules set every two weeks.
• Must maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance to support store operations.
• Must be willing and able to work outdoors year-round to find new sales opportunities and promote company products and services through designated outreach.
• Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds as needed.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to operate office equipment such as phones, scanners, and iPads.
• Ability to organize and file paper documents.
• Prior experience in customer service, cashiering, sales, or hospitality.
