About the role
OpenRouter provides the essential AI infrastructure for businesses, enabling them to access, manage, and optimize a wide range of AI models. We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead our enterprise offerings, empowering large organizations to adopt AI securely and cost-effectively. This role is critical in shaping how major companies integrate and control their AI deployments.

What you'll do
- Define and manage the complete product lifecycle for enterprise features, from initial procurement and security approvals to driving widespread adoption and expansion within client organizations.
- Collaborate closely with Fortune 100 companies to understand their unique requirements and translate them into a product roadmap, ensuring the delivery of enterprise-grade solutions.
- Develop foundational enterprise platform capabilities, including role-based access control, granular permissions, single sign-on (SSO) and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) integration, SCIM provisioning, administrative and governance tools, organizational and team management, data privacy and residency controls, compliance standards, and financial oversight for spending.
- Identify and capitalize on emerging AI trends to create unique value propositions for enterprise clients, making advanced AI accessible and manageable.
- Design and implement product strategies that foster growth from initial team adoption to organization-wide deployment of OpenRouter.
- Act as the internal advocate for enterprise customer needs, participating in sales engagements and customer visits to gather insights that inform product development and ensure customer success.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, design, sales, security, and customer success teams to deliver successful enterprise outcomes.
- Uphold high standards of product quality and user experience, recognizing that trust, clarity, and attention to detail are paramount for enterprise adoption.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years in product management, with at least 3 years focused on building enterprise-grade products and a proven history of successfully moving products to larger market segments.
- Experience developing technically complex products with a strong emphasis on analytics and a keen product sense, ideally within data/analytics platforms or forward-deployed solutions for sophisticated technical users.
- Direct experience within a sales-led go-to-market motion serving Fortune 500 clients, navigating multi-stakeholder sales cycles and complex procurement processes.
- A deep understanding of the needs and concerns of IT, security, and administrative stakeholders, and what is required to implement software at scale while satisfying security requirements.
- Practical familiarity with essential enterprise readiness features such as RBAC, SSO/SAML, SCIM, audit logs, and governance/compliance frameworks.
- Strong technical acumen, enabling effective collaboration with engineering teams on infrastructure, APIs, and security considerations.
- High degree of initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving, customer engagement, iteration, and product delivery within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
Nice to have
- Prior experience selling to or developing products for regulated sectors like finance, healthcare, or the public sector, including familiarity with compliance standards such as SOC 2 and HIPAA.
- Experience scaling enterprise product offerings from an early stage to a mature, high-growth phase.
- Knowledge of the AI landscape and the specific requirements for responsible enterprise AI deployment.
