Staff Engineer, Middleware

About the role

OKX is seeking a Staff Engineer for its Middleware team. This role focuses on optimizing existing technologies and exploring new innovations in the crypto space. You will contribute to the core infrastructure supporting OKX's global operations.

What you'll do

• Design and optimize the architecture for microservice governance, RPC, MQ messaging, and data middleware systems.
• Research and implement technical solutions for high availability, scalability, and security of systems.
• Customize and tune microservices frameworks like Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Enhance message transmission and resolve data consistency in distributed systems.
• Develop efficient data storage solutions and optimize data access performance and cost.
• Oversee deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and emergency response for middleware systems.
• Stay informed on industry trends and introduce new technologies to advance team capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Over 6 years of software development experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in middleware or distributed system architecture design.
• Proven track record of designing large-scale projects or complex system architectures.
• Expertise in microservice architecture, including Spring Cloud and Dubbo.
• Familiarity with messaging middleware such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Deep understanding of NoSQL databases like Redis and MongoDB, and relational databases like MySQL.
• Experience with search engines like Elastic Search.
• Practical experience with configuration centers (Nacos, Apollo) and containerization technologies (Kong API Gateway, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of distributed coordination services like etcd and Zookeeper.
• Some understanding and practical experience with ServiceMesh, Sidecar, and eBPF.
• Ability to independently manage complex system design from requirements to technical solutions.
