Product Manager, AI Strategy

About the role

We are seeking a Forward Deployed Product Manager to join our team as one of the first hires. In this role, you will engage directly with clients in the finance industry to gain insights into their workflows, identify valuable AI applications, and convert these insights into product specifications for our engineering team.

While coding is not a requirement, a strong understanding of technical systems and data flows is essential. You will collaborate with full-stack engineers to create secure and scalable integrations with financial systems, delivering solutions that provide significant business benefits.

This position is hybrid and based in New York, with frequent in-office collaboration.

What you'll do

• Manage customer success by acting as the main product liaison for our clients, converting their requirements into organized product workflows.
• Lead the discovery and delivery process by gathering client requirements, defining minimum viable products (MVPs), and overseeing the implementation of solutions.
• Connect business needs with engineering by translating client workflows into technical integration requirements and product specifications for the engineering team.
• Ensure impactful deployments by participating in onsite implementations to facilitate successful onboarding and usage of our product.
• Promote rapid delivery by working cross-functionally in a dynamic startup environment to prioritize and launch product features efficiently and iteratively.

Requirements

• Familiarity with financial systems and data flows, or experience in a finance-related position such as fintech, investment banking, or management consulting.
• Strong client engagement skills, with the ability to resolve deployment challenges and deliver value to customers.
• Technical proficiency, with the capability to create prototypes using AI coding tools, even though coding is not part of the role.
• Ability to think structurally, transforming ambiguous situations into clear problem statements and actionable plans.
• A mindset geared towards building, thriving in environments where you can take initiatives and adapt to various roles.

Experience

• 3 to 6 years of experience in product management, strategy, consulting, or related fields within financial services.
• Significant exposure to technical concepts, ideally having worked closely with full-stack or infrastructure engineers.
• Background in finance, fintech, or management consulting, with experience at firms such as McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or in investment banking being highly advantageous.
• Educational qualifications from prestigious institutions in Finance, Investment Management, Private Equity, or related areas are strongly preferred.
