Technical Lead, Evaluation Infrastructure

About the role

Nuro is seeking a technical leader to architect and manage the systems used to validate our autonomous driving software. You will guide the development of high-scale infrastructure that enables our engineers to test and verify the performance of the Nuro Driver.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain the software frameworks required for large-scale simulation and real-world data analysis.
• Establish performance benchmarks to measure the safety and reliability of autonomous driving features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering groups to integrate evaluation tools into the core development pipeline.
• Oversee the technical direction of infrastructure projects to ensure they meet the demands of our licensing and robotaxi initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in building and scaling complex data or infrastructure systems.
• Deep technical expertise in software engineering, specifically within autonomous vehicle or robotics domains.
• Ability to lead technical strategy and mentor engineering staff.
• Experience with high-throughput data processing and simulation environments.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in C++ or Python.
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of autonomous vehicle testing methodologies and safety validation.

Practical notes

• Nuro recently secured 106 million dollars in funding to support the transition toward licensing autonomous driving technology for robotaxis and personally owned vehicles.
