Senior/Staff Software Engineer, ML Data Infrastructure

About the role

Nuro is seeking an experienced engineer to build the data systems that support our autonomous driving technology. You will focus on scaling the infrastructure required to train and validate our machine learning models as we transition toward licensing our software for robotaxis and consumer vehicles.

• Design and maintain high-throughput data pipelines for large-scale machine learning model training.
• Optimize storage and retrieval systems to handle massive datasets generated by autonomous vehicle sensors.
• Collaborate with research and engineering teams to improve the efficiency of our data processing workflows.
• Build tools that automate data labeling, curation, and quality assurance for the Nuro Driver stack.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience in software engineering with a focus on data infrastructure or machine learning platforms.
• Proficiency in building distributed systems capable of processing petabyte-scale data.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C++ or Python.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior team members.
