About the role
The is a hands-on technical role focused on the execution and support of in vivo studies. On this team, you will ensure animal studies and testing proceed without interruption by maintaining rigorous operational continuity. You will follow protocols and regulatory expectations with precision to keep experiments on schedule and compliant. This position requires you to apply high integrity and strong professional judgment in all decision points that affect data quality and animal welfare. You will maintain detailed lab books or version-controlled analysis code to guarantee traceability and reproducibility of all procedures. Additionally, you will build fixtures and adapt equipment to keep workflows running smoothly in a rapidly evolving research environment. You will address practical problems in real time to support uninterrupted workflows across the preclinical pipeline. This role is embedded within a mission-driven team developing a non-invasive, ultrasound-based device that can stimulate and image the brain at high resolution and depth.

- You will perform cranial window implantations when experience exists, supporting chronic imaging and recording studies.
- You will use sterile cell culture technique to maintain reagents, viral vectors, or tissue samples under clean conditions.
- You will solve practical problems as part of standard lab work, innovating within constraints to preserve data quality and animal well-being.
Requirements
- You need hands-on experience in a preclinical or animal research laboratory, demonstrating consistent competence in live animal studies.
- You need neuroscience experience preferred, with a foundational understanding of brain circuits, behavior, and experimental models.
- You need handling rodents, including experience with multiple strains, sexes, and age ranges under varying experimental conditions.
- You need performing dosing, anesthesia, perfusion, and tissue harvest, showing proficiency across multiple species and procedures.
- You need familiarity with sterile cell culture technique, maintaining aseptic practices for cell lines, viruses, or explants.
- You need a bachelor's, master's, or PhD in neuroscience, biology, or related field (preferred), with evidence of sustained laboratory responsibility.
- You need the ability to work independently and in collaboration, communicating clearly with engineers, scientists, and animal facility staff.
- You need strict adherence to institutional animal care and use committee standards, ensuring that all work remains within approved protocols.
