About the role
Bamboohr is looking for an experienced IT Manager to take charge of the organization's information technology functions from our office in Sabetha, Kansas. This role centers on leading the technology team, shaping the company's digital strategy, and making sure that all systems run smoothly and securely every single day. The IT Manager will work closely with department heads across the organization to understand their technology needs and deliver solutions that help the business grow and thrive. The person in this position will be accountable for the performance, reliability, and security of the company's entire technology environment, ensuring that every system supports the organization's core mission and daily operations.

What you'll do
Manage the daily operations of the IT department and provide direct supervision to all technical staff members across the organization.
Develop and execute technology roadmaps that align with the company's strategic goals and support long-term growth plans.
Oversee the ongoing maintenance, timely upgrades, and effective troubleshooting of all hardware, software, and network infrastructure components.
Partner with leaders in other departments to identify technology gaps and deliver practical, cost-effective solutions.
Establish and enforce IT policies, security procedures, and data protection protocols across the entire organization to safeguard sensitive information.
Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and coordinate disaster recovery efforts to prevent outages and maintain uptime.
Guide the evaluation, selection, procurement, and deployment of new technology products and platforms for the company.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and negotiate favorable contracts for technology services and support.
Own the IT department's annual budget, allocate resources wisely, and report on spending and ROI to leadership.
Coach and develop team members through regular one-on-one meetings, skills training, and structured performance improvement plans.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related field is a mandatory requirement for this position.
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in IT management or a comparable leadership role within a technology-driven organization.
A demonstrated history of successfully managing IT teams, complex projects, and enterprise infrastructure in a professional and structured environment.
Strong command of network administration, cybersecurity best practices, and enterprise software deployment and lifecycle management.
Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities for bridging the gap between technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
A proven record of setting priorities, juggling multiple concurrent projects, and consistently delivering results on or before deadlines.
Hands-on experience with financial planning, budget management, and cost optimization strategies for technology programs and initiatives.
Working knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and data protection standards that apply to the relevant industry sector.
Nice to have
Experience working with cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services in a production environment.
Industry-recognized certifications including CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert are considered a strong advantage.
Prior experience managing IT operations for a company that operates across multiple office locations or sites.
Solid understanding of enterprise resource planning systems and customer relationship management platforms that are commonly used in day-to-day business operations.
Skills & tools
Demonstrated proficiency in Windows Server administration, Active Directory management, and group policy configuration and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V for server consolidation and resource management.
Working knowledge of firewall setup, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection platforms for network security.
Comfortable navigating ticketing systems, asset management databases, and real-time monitoring dashboards for daily operations.
Capable of writing scripts or building automation workflows to handle repetitive tasks using PowerShell or comparable tools.
Solid grounding in backup procedures, disaster recovery planning, and the tools used to execute both effectively.
Practical notes
This is a full-time position physically located in Sabetha, Kansas, and regular on-site attendance at the office is expected.
The IT Manager will report to senior company leadership and work in close coordination with teams across all departments.
Applicants should be comfortable taking on-call shifts to respond to critical system issues that arise outside of normal business hours.
