What you'll do

• Enhance and maintain existing loan fraud indicators and advise on the best analytic methods.
• Design, test, and deploy sophisticated models to identify financial fraud and improper payments.
• Develop and fine-tune both supervised and unsupervised models, including regression and clustering.
• Conduct data quality assessments and create processes for analyzing large data sets.
• Work with criminal investigators to align analytic strategies with case requirements.
• Ensure compliance with federal criminal procedure rules and document methodologies for evidentiary purposes.
• Create visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure machine learning architecture is efficient.
• Innovate programming and automation solutions using tools like Python, Excel, and Power BI.

Requirements

• Master's, Ph.D., or equivalent in data science, machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or related fields, or 10 years of relevant experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in designing and maintaining AI systems and predictive models.
• More than 5 years in developing analytic rules and statistical models.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting criminal investigations into financial fraud.
• Proficiency in Python, especially with Pandas, for over 3 years.
• Experience in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP for more than 3 years.
• Advanced data analysis skills in SQL Server and PostgreSQL for at least 2 years.
• Experience in natural language processing solutions for over 2 years.
• Proven ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Cloud certification in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with SBA loan programs or similar federal lending fraud.
• Skills in entity resolution, record linkage, or network analysis for fraud detection.
• Experience in creating analytic products used in criminal referrals or prosecutions.
• Familiarity with model explainability methods like SHAP.
