VP of Finance

About the role

Nightfall is looking for a VP of Finance to join its executive team. This role involves leading all financial operations, guiding strategic financial planning, and building scalable financial infrastructure. You will be a key partner to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring financial discipline and managing investor relations.

What you'll do

• Oversee all financial functions, including FP&A, accounting, reporting, and compliance.
• Develop long-term financial plans and models to guide strategy and resource allocation.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team for company-wide decisions.
• Collaborate with the CEO on fundraising efforts and manage board communications, including updates and financial modeling.
• Establish and implement financial controls, processes, and tools suitable for a rapidly growing, AI-focused SaaS company.
• Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Optimize capital allocation, cash flow, and runway management.
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and trust.
• Partner with GTM, Product, and R&D leaders to define and track key SaaS and AI metrics like ARR, CAC, and burn.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and audit requirements.

Requirements

• 10 or more years of progressive finance leadership experience in SaaS startups.
• Experience scaling a company from early to growth stages (Series A, B, or C+).
• Prior experience as a key finance leader or VP/CFO in a fast-paced, venture-backed environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of SaaS and subscription business models, key SaaS metrics, and AI company dynamics.
• Proven track record in leading fundraising, investor relations, and financial due diligence.
• Strong analytical, modeling, and FP&A skills, with expertise in financial systems and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing finance teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of cross-functional and executive/board-level partnerships.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic, high-growth environments with inherent ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Direct experience in an AI, security, or data-centric SaaS company.
• CPA or MBA qualification.
