Senior Backend Software Engineer at nightfall-ai.
About the role
Nightfall creates AI-native data loss prevention and insider risk management tools for SaaS, GenAI, and endpoint security. You will join our R&D department to build and maintain the microservices that power our automated data protection platform.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and secure authentication and API services.
- Manage and improve core internal databases and service infrastructure.
- Operate and tune streaming data services that handle high traffic volumes.
- Monitor and track service usage metrics on a per-customer basis.
- Create and update technical documentation for internal and public-facing services.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in at least one systems or high-level language such as Go, Python, Java, or C++.
- Proven track record of maintaining reliable systems with 99.9% uptime and throughput reaching thousands of requests per second.
- Experience scaling complex software to support millions of users or massive data sets.
- Proficiency with distributed storage and database systems including SQL or NoSQL variants like MySQL and Cassandra.
- Ability to lead technical teams through the breakdown and resolution of complex business challenges.
- Experience designing and managing real-time data processing pipelines using tools like Kafka, Hadoop, Hive, Storm, or Zookeeper.
