Intern, AI Engineer

About the role

Nextiva is seeking an AI Engineering Intern to contribute to our unified customer experience management platform. You will work directly on our AI-powered solutions, including XBert and our suite of AI agents, to improve how businesses handle customer conversations.

What you'll do

• Assist in the development and refinement of AI-driven features for the NEXT Platform.
• Contribute to the engineering of AI employees, voice agents, and receptionist tools.
• Support the integration of machine learning models into our omnichannel communication channels.
• Collaborate with the team to enhance real-time agent guidance and automated conversation workflows.
• Help maintain high standards for system reliability and performance within our cloud-based infrastructure.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Foundational knowledge of AI, machine learning, or natural language processing.
• Ability to work onsite in our Scottsdale office.
• Strong problem-solving skills and interest in building scalable enterprise software.

Skills & tools

• Proficiency in programming languages relevant to AI development.
• Familiarity with cloud-based communication systems and API integrations.
• Understanding of data analytics and reporting frameworks.
