Staff Data Scientist - Graph Neural Networks
Job description
About the role
At Neuron7.ai, the Staff Data Scientist - Graph Neural Networks (GNN) & Predictive AI role is centered on delivering next-generation service intelligence through advanced graph-based modeling. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of graph-driven AI products that uncover complex relationships within service ecosystems. These ecosystems are powered by structured and unstructured data, including logs, tickets, and expert domain knowledge. Your work will translate ambiguous business challenges into scalable graph architectures and define a clear technical roadmap from experimentation to production. You will lead experiments that quantify how GNN-driven predictions improve real-world service metrics such as first-call resolution and turnaround time. This includes establishing best practices for data representation, graph construction, model evaluation, and responsible AI across the product lifecycle. You will also mentor junior data scientists and engineers on graph learning methodologies and support cross-functional learning. A key part of this role is communicating model capabilities and limitations to non-technical stakeholders to guide strategic investment in AI initiatives.
Location: India
Engagement: Full-time
What you'll do
You will architect and deploy end-to-end graph neural network pipelines that power service intelligence at scale. This includes designing graph structures from heterogeneous data sources such as structured logs, service tickets, and expert insights. You will implement node-level and graph-level representations using PyTorch and specialized GNN libraries, ensuring these representations capture complex relational dependencies. You will optimize large-scale graph processing workflows to operate reliably within evolving service environments and growing data volumes. Graph-based predictions will be integrated with existing NLP and analytics products deployed in production cloud environments on platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS. You will conduct rigorous experimentation to validate model performance in real-world service scenarios and measure impact on key operational metrics. Collaboration with data engineering teams will ensure robust data pipelines feed reliable graph feature stores. You will leverage advanced SQL analytics to enrich graph features and validate data quality. The role requires staying at the forefront of GNN and geometric deep learning research while mentoring team members on graph modeling techniques. You will support cross-functional learning initiatives and clearly explain model behavior, limitations, and strategic value to non-technical stakeholders and customers.
Requirements
The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in data science, with demonstrated focus on NLP and unstructured data processing. Candidates must bring proven experience in Graph Neural Networks and extensive NLP expertise. A track record of launching NLP-driven products to live users is essential. You should possess expert-level Python skills and fluency with standard libraries such as PyTorch, NLTK, and Scikit-learn. Experience with Transformer-based models, including BERT and GPT, is required. Strong experience with one or more cloud platforms - Azure, GCP, or AWS - for hosting and deploying AI/ML products in production is mandatory. Familiarity with data engineering pipelines and best practices is expected. Proficiency in SQL for analytics and data manipulation is required. The role demands excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large-scale, complex datasets. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to mentor team members and interact effectively with customers.
Nice to have
Preferred but not required is knowledge of MLOps practices for model deployment and monitoring. Familiarity with data processing frameworks such as Airflow or Spark is advantageous. Background in customer-facing applications and APIs is also preferred.
Practical notes
This role offers flexibility to work from home or from our vibrant Bengaluru office.
