What you'll do

Design and construct modular, scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot, adhering to microservice best practices.

Develop efficient database schemas and optimize queries for relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.

Implement event-driven architectures by integrating messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

Apply caching techniques using Redis or Memcached to enhance system speed and responsiveness.

Contribute to the architecture of distributed systems capable of handling significant traffic and concurrent operations.

Analyze and improve backend performance across databases, APIs, and infrastructure components.

Write well-tested, maintainable code to ensure system stability and reliability.

Collaborate effectively with product, frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver features from conception to completion.

Requirements

Possess 2-4 years of professional experience in backend development, ideally within a product-focused SaaS company.

Demonstrate strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.

Exhibit a solid understanding of relational databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL.

Have experience with messaging queues like Kafka or RabbitMQ for building asynchronous systems.

Be skilled in using caching solutions such as Redis or Memcached.

Show aptitude for problem-solving and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting.

Have practical experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.

Possess strong collaboration skills and experience working with diverse engineering and product teams.

Nice to have

Previous experience in a high-growth startup environment for over 2 years.

Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or a desire to work with data science teams.

Experience with infrastructure automation, monitoring, or observability tools.

Exposure to NoSQL databases including Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern development workflows.

Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-specific services such as AWS ECS or GKE.
