Software Engineer - Platform Security at Neo4j.
About the role
The Platform Security team at Neo4j is seeking experienced engineers to help secure our Aura managed cloud platform. You will build guardrails and provide tooling that enables our developers to maintain a secure-by-design approach across 800+ Kubernetes clusters.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Build cloud-native security controls for AWS, Azure, and GCP that integrate with vendor and open-source tooling.
- Create paved roads for containerized services to improve security throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance on infrastructure-as-code, secure AuthN/AuthZ techniques like SPIFFE, and secrets management.
- Partner with internal teams to implement Kubernetes-native policies using tools such as Kyverno and Pod Security Standards.
- Perform architecture reviews and security audits to identify and implement new cloud controls.
- Maintain monitoring and alerting systems to support incident detection, response, and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a security engineering role with hands-on technical and decision-making responsibilities.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, containers, infrastructure-as-code, and programming in Go, Java, or Python.
- Demonstrated ability to architect microservices and APIs on containerized platforms.
- Background in securing Linux hosts, containerized applications, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience with cloud-native authentication, secrets management, service mesh, mTLS, and IAM solutions.
- Active interest in network, infrastructure, or cloud security.
